Dave,
I seem to remember it being pretty straightforward. I don't think there is
any room for the pistons to go in anything but straight. The only trick is
getting the rubber seals/boot seated in the groove, but once it's in you
should know it. Use some break fluid around the lips to help it slide in
easily.
That is most likely anti-squeal, at least I hope so. The stuff I used was
like a black grease. Didn't help much, though.
