It looks like the stop under the lower A-arms will hold everything in
place
when I remove start removing nuts and bolts, but I thought I'd check with

brain trust first. I'd hate to have something spring out on me!
Thanks in advance for the replies.

I have replaced the upper A-arms (as well as calipers and rotors) on my
'59 TR3A with TR6 stuff and have removed the upper A-arms without removing the
spring. The shock holds everything in place with no real problems that I
could see (I have done this once on each side). I did, however, have my floor
jack under the lower A-arm/spring pan with just a little "tension" to make
sure it would not go anywhere. Also, I did have to jack just a bit to get the
ball joint back into position to bolt up.
