Bill,
Just my opinion but, I would just scab a piece of plate behind the original
shock mounts, weld it to the original plates, drill new correct size holes
and put in the heavy duty bolts and nyloc nuts. These damn things have an
uncanny way of working loose and are miserable to get a wrench on, so I'd
overkill it.
