I recall reading, back in the day, that MG cars were sent to Hawaii without
heaters.
The heater was emphatically not hooked up in my Lotus, but the steel tubes
were in the frame and the cores were there. It works fine now, although I
put a valve in the cockpit instead of the one that is supposed to reside on
the engine.
The TR4 heater would probably work if I hooked up the cable the stock valve,
but I have not yet been motivated to do so.
