Hi John
I would disagree that the TIG welder is no good for heating, It is merely a
function of the power available and the skill of the operator to avoid
blowing the material away, just like with gas. The difference would be that
on gas you just fit a bigger nozzle and up the gas pressure but with TIG if
the machine does not have the power you can't turn it up any further.
