Cosmo,

During the Winter '98 rebuild, I went back to the round ones
based on list advice that they were stronger. The square ones I
found were separated and causing lots of grief.

My TR4A engine had no torque arm... but I have one from a TR4
parts engine I saved from the dump. Maybe I should install it to
be safe.... I'll add it to this Winter's shop work.

Hi Brian!
I own a TR4/A & that did Not come with a torque arm, maybe they
felt
that it wasn't needed in that modle? I have the round mounts [I
think
from TRF] & I'm pleased with them. I chose the round mounts
because I
felt them to be better. Remember that you can place washers
[round 1/8"
thick spacers the size of the round mounts] to adjust height for
the
radiator top hose (but watch out for the front fan Damper rubbing
when
engine is running & bonnet when closing, & space for the oval air
filters not to hit the RH inner wheel well). I'm not 100% sure
about the
TR4, that's why I started out stating that I own a TR4/A. So you
may not
want to listed to me. -Cosmo Kramer
