Im starting a rebuild of some SU's for the TR4 that I won from EBAY. What
might one use to paint the intake if it doesnt come out as clean as one
likes? Also my exhaust manifold is permanantly pink. What might one use to
paint that as well?

Also has anyone taken a look or considered EFI? I found this website and am
very interested in the kits.

Theres a kit for adding throttle bodies to the stock ZS/SU intake manifold
and also DCOE style intakes. Seem real nice

Hi David,
I saw quite some responses on your paint question, but I have
seen no message on the EFI question. So here I go.
My TR6 is running since a year on EFI. I bought a complete
system from Revingtontr in U.K. and I did fit it myself in Revingtons
workshop under the supervision of Neil Revington. The system has
been developped by Revington and is based on Lumenition racing
equipment ( computer,throttle bodies,ignition,sensors and wiring
loom) but uses the TWM inlet manifold. Computer is loaded with
Lumenition soft ware and calibrated to my TR6 specifications. I
have fitted a Lambda sensor in the extractor with Air/fuel ratio
meter on the dash to monitor the mixture.I purchased at the same
time the Lumenition soft ware making it possible to recalibrate the
computer via laptop. Although there is not a big change in final HP
output the great advantage is max torque al over the RPM range
and best fuel mixture at any engine temperature. Its now a
pleasure driving the car at high ambient temperatures what cannot
be said with the Lucas injection, but on the other side there is a
considerable price tag, let's say in the States you can buy a
decent TR6 for the price of the EFI . As I'm not a car professionel I
did not dare to adventure into an existing EFI modification as
suggested on the TWM website. If any body has access to a
cheap EFI system and is handy with electronics its worth
considering to convert a carb TR6 to EFI. I have recently seen a
british TR5 that was converted to EFI by retaining some of the
Lucas injection parts.
