Ken,
You can replace a rear wheel stud with out removing the hub or axle assembly
from
the vehicle. You will need to remove the wheel, the brake drum, and brake shoes.
There is enough clearance between the hub and brake back plate to remove a wheel
stud. You can then replace the stud with one of the lug nuts and several
washers. The washers are required as the stud necks down into the threads on
the
stud. With out the washers, the stud will not seat completely. Once seated
completely, remove the nut, and washers and replace the brake shoes, drum and
wheel.
