Oh God, here we go again! The Bentley manual states on page 132,
(12.41.05 item53): "Insert the thrust bearings into the groves in the
cylinder block ENSURING THAT THE OIL GROOVES FACE TOWARDS THE SIDES OF
THE CRANKSHAFT JOURNAL" (caps mine).
The # 4 main bearing cap keeps the thrust washers from rotating.
So Paul Burr has it quite backwards (No disrespect meant).
