It lives!! My 64 Mk I Spitfire lives! This past weekend we put some
gas in
the tank, static adjusted the timing, hook up a freshly charged battery
and
fired that bad boy up and by God does it sound wonderful. That's the
good
news.

Congrats many times over!!!! I'm really jealous. What a great feeling
it must be to have something like that fire up and go! I look forward
to the day when I can get mine to that point. Shouldn't be too far off
- maybe 1 or 2 months, the way I work!
As for the carb stuff, I bought the Haynes SU manual, and found it
pretty informative. I rebuilt both my HS2's with kits from TRF, but I
had severly worn throttle shaft rods, so I needed to get them bored &
bushed, so no vacuum leaks. Good Luck & Congrats Again!
