I'M A VERY RECENT ROOKIE TO TRIUMPH OWNERSHIP. I BOUGHT A 1961 TR3A WITH A
(SURPRISE) NONFUNCTIONAL GENERATOR. I ACQUIRED A LUCAS C.39 PV-2 GENERATOR
OFF A TR4, INSTALLED IT, (WIRED CORRECTLY, I DOUBLE CHECKED), BUT WHEN I
STARTED THE ENGINE, THE IGNITION LIGHT BLINKED ON AND OFF AND THE AMMETER
WENT CRAZY. I DISCONNECTED THE GENERATOR, CONNECTED THE D AND F TERMINALS
TOGETHER AND MEASURED THE VOLTAGE OUTPUT AT OVER 40 VOLTS. (MY VOLTMETER
CHECKS OUT OK). MY QUESTIONS: 1) WHAT DO I DO NOW? 2) HAVE I LIKELY FRIED
THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR? ANY SUGESTIONS? THANKS
