Hello all,
I'm getting pretty pissed off at brakes on my TR-4. They just don't seem to
release after I let go of the pedal. The car ain't easy to push either.
Lots of rolling resistance.
I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the calipers or master cyl or hoses
as I have rebuilt / replaced all of these. Then again, I often don't do a
good job because I am too anxious to drive around more. So I could be wrong.
My latest theory is that there is crud in the lines or they are kinked,
blocked slightly. My evidence for this is the behavior mentioned above and
the problems I have bleeding the brakes. I have tried both hand vacuum pumps
and also the eezi-bleed system which forces fluid though with air pressure
applied to the top of the master cyl. Neither worked so hot. They weren't
able to overcome the resistance and suck / push fluid through the lines.
Perhaps it is a clog in the five way or three way junction.
Has anyone else had similar problems? Any suggestions?
I could buy new lines from TRF and install them I guess. Has anyone done
this? Are they the right length and with the right fittings? Will I need to
paint them to keep them from rusting?
What a pain.
