Ron,

I'm just guessing too, but I'm looking more at the contour of the cover than
its shape.

The cover on our Mk I Tiger, which we've had since '67 is most definitely
flat. Our Mk II Tiger is flat there too 'cause it has no cover.

The cover on our Series II Alpine is clearly "humped." And it has neither
hinges nor the quick-release fastener. It slips under a pair of brackets on
the rear edge of the shelf and is attached by screws at the forward corners.

We had a Series V Alpine for quite a while, but sold it in 2004. I'm pretty
sure it had hinges and the quick-release fastener, but I don't remember if
it was flat or humped.

I think we might have a cover or two from Series IV Alpines out in one of
the backyard sheds, but it would be a major adventure to try and find them.

I did do a quick thumb-through of the Here Comes the Judge chapter of The
Book of Norman, but did not see anything about the cover there. Maybe if we
catch him in a good mood, he'll chime in on this issue?

That's what I thought until I looked at the one on my Tiger
and it has the same shape as Joe's.

I'm not an original owner so I don't know if it is the original Tiger cover.

Maybe the 2 parts are interchangeable - I don't know.

Joe,

Sadly, I think Ron is right.

The Tiger piece is pretty-much flat. It looks like yours has a raised
area--extra clearance for Alpine battery terminals?

Joe

I'm not totally sure but I believe you have an Alpine access
door.

Alpine Parts List ? pub 6600992 ? section YX, plate D shows the access door
with angled cuts at the hinged edge.
