That's what I thought until I looked at the one on my Tiger
and it has the same shape as Joe's.
I'm not an original owner so I don't know if it is the original Tiger cover.
Maybe the 2 parts are interchangeable - I don't know.

Sadly, I think Ron is right.
The Tiger piece is pretty-much flat. It looks like yours has a raised
area--extra clearance for Alpine battery terminals?

door.
Alpine Parts List ? pub 6600992 ? section YX, plate D shows the access door
with angled cuts at the hinged edge.
