Something that is fails to be mentioned in this discussion is the difference in the casting arrangement of the cylinders between the 260 and the 289. Ford repositioned the bores on the 289 to achieve the 4 inch bore. The 260 was not a small bore 289, the difference between the two goes to the "core." Dr. Moonstone |
