To All on Brakes,
Many years back I went to Midas to have pads installed and rotors turned on
my Volvo. I was told that turning the rotor would put it below the
recommended thickness for safety. Therefore, the rotors had to be replaced.
I went to the Volvo dealer, they checked the rotors and said they could be
turned. The dealer was using Volvo factory recommended specs. When I
mentioned what Midas had said I was told that Midas makes up with their own
specs. which are much stricter than the factory or anyone elses. If Midas is
asked about it, their answer is that they just want to be safer than other
places. It's pretty hard to argue with and they can, as a result, sell a lot
more rotors. Mark L.
