Yes on the electric point module. Dennis Knapek, of Knapek Auto
Electric (26 West 4th, Eureka, CA) has one he sells that is a drop-in
replacement for the points. His e-mail address is "mariak@razorlogic.com".
Most of the sophisticated after market systems start dropping plug
firings to control RPM.

No! The material I'm talking about is a replacement for the heavy
black paper base under the jute. The jute was essentially insulation and
padding. High tech insulation is a good idea as long as it can take the
under floor heat.
