When the car is presented for scrutineering and the scrutineer, sometimes
this is ME throws the switch with the engine running you'd prefer the
alternator
diodes not to be fried, especially if the race is a long one.
I guess if you roll the car at least it's something else (the alternator)
you don't have to fix. Also, it could be the car hasn't been rolled just a
heavy crash, driven unconcious,engine stalled but fuel pump running. Could
just
be the car's on fire and the driver's ran away from it with the engine and
fuel pump(s) still running.
