Does it work that way.
I don't rightly know. I don't think it would.
The load isn't coming from the alternator...it's coming from the
electrical
items added and the horsepower it takes
to provide the electrical power those items
draw, max alternator output notwithstanding.
However, the larger capacity alternator
would not provide as much heat
(drag - friction) putting out the "same"
load as an alternator of lower capacity,
methinks. So there might be some saving
there.
