Howdy,
My hardtop is the same way. When I got it, I had to tweak the front clamps
to even grab the brackets on the windscreen. It had no rear clamping
parts, and I had to fashion my own side clamps from some stainless steel
turnbuckles (I don't know what was used originally).
Now that I have the 5 speed I can go even faster that before ('safety fast'
of course) and have had no problems with the hardtop.
