I'm kind of in the middle of that design myself for a Spit6 project.

Things to consider.....
1) Where are you going to put the hard section when you remove it when not
at home.
(size and shape consideration) If it's window to window it won't fit
behind the seats nor in the trunk.
2) T-topping it or one panel is removable (t-tops would fit in the trunk
as well as the middle adding some windshield strength)
3) leave the leading edge attached to the windshield, or attach the leading
edge like a ragtop. (fastening considerations as well as sealing strips
etc)
4) Ragtop section snap on as well as hard section attachment options.
5) Hard section head liner to edges of the metal work need to be designed
into your sealing/overlap junctions.
6) Consider since the targa rear section will now be fixed... making it
permanent.
(mould it or weld it in to the main body panels) You can then make the rear
window 'openable' as well as just the side windows

There are more but you get the idea. You'll see the other items to consider
while 'designing' yours. :-)
