The body shop that replaced the rear wings on my Spitfire used epoxy around the 
wheel opening and perhaps slong the bottom edge.  Told me it would do a better 
job of sealing it against water.  They welded around the top of the fender.  

So Far I have been happy with it.  (it has been about 4 years.
