Is there any reason that a front sealing block cannot
be machined from cast iron or steel?
I actually have 3 of the sealing blocks sitting in a
box waiting for an engine rebuild, but have
contemplated using atleast one to hand over to a
machinist to see if he can make a duplicate out of
steel.
It appears to be square stock metal, with a few
shoulder cuts and tapped holes. Nothing too difficult.
You could probably make one yourself if you have a
large array of power shop tools (which I don't).
