Stuart, I do have the "don't look at the tach" option of course. Habit I
suppose to look at it. Was a time when that was used for the road speed when
the speedo was not working.
Hmm, we could spawn a new thread on all the "special options" these cars
have..........
The one I love, is when someone that has not been in the car stands and waits
for you to unlock the doors. I tell them I used the remote and it's already
unlocked! They doesn't seem to get it.

Subject: Re: Tachometer Question
Maybe I'm mistaken, but isn't that one of those endearing idiosyncracies
that make Triumphs the cars we love? As I recall, when Mazda first
introduced the Miata, they actually engineered some bounce into the
tachometer to make it seem more like the true British roadster it so
clearly strived to be like. Unfortunately, I have no useful
infrormation on how to fix it if it's truly driving you crazy...only the
psychological salve to make it more bearable until you do fix it :-)

Seeing the thread on the speedo has reminded me to see if anyone
out
there has seen and knows the cure for a bouncing tech. Fine
except
around 3000 rpm when it's hot. When it's cold it's fine and low
down
it's fine but on a long drive on a hot day..... Fine the next
day when
it's cold.
