just buy a new pump all together from somewhere/someone so that i have the
right one? Again i am looking to save some money for now until i have the
money to spend on the car and get it all back to original and looking much
better. But for now i just want to try to get it running.

Dave,

What does a new pump cost? How much is your time worth to do the job
2 times? Finally, how much is it worth to you to be stuck on the side of
the road someplace and have to have a wrecker tow you home?

In otherwords, yes, you may get the pump working again. But are you going
to replace the bearing? What about the packing around the shaft? Keeping
the old pump is just asking for it to drop you.

In my book, the cost of a new pump is well worth the alternative.

John
