I would think that the best approach would be to copy what was done on the
later Spits - that way you are at least sort-of original.
In this layout the inertia reel unit sits at the bottom rear of the wheel
arch, feeding the belt directly upwards. There is then a guide bolted to
the highest point on the wheel arch, redirecting the belt forwards and over
your shoulder to the clip which is bolted to the transmission tunnel. The
belt then goes across the lap and the end bolts to the floor at the bottom
of the B-pillar.
