Since the list is very technical lately (just the way I like it!) let me post a
warning and ask a question.
First the warning:
Oil pressure switches commonly found on our cars are half plastic. I have seen
them crack and leak oil, I have also seen them develop very large cracks
(suddenly? or maybe unnoticed by the owner over time) and then let out oil
Exxon Valdez style. Some believe this lack of oil could be harmful to engines.
So take care to check it every once in a while, see that it is not coated with
oil (possibly a hairline crack developing). It could cost you anywhere from a
very messy driveway, to a new engine. No panick, just watch yourselves.
Next the Question:
Is our thread size for the o.p.s cummon? maybe there is a safer switch out
there? I would definetly like to get a switch that warns me before 7 psi (read:
Warning your engine has died 15 sec. ago). If so any part #s or sizes?
TIA
Avi,
Happy beeing part of the greatest list in the world.
