Good point on the fact that the standby generator will be on battery maintainer
nearly all of the time. We are on the same page. Using an AGM maintainer will
keep that battery at AGM standards.

I will politely, partially, disagree on this one.
If you have a battery maintainer on it (and how could you not?), you might need
to buy a new one. Take a look at the specs for the one you have. Iâ??ve used
standard Battery Tender branded devices on all the stuff I have that sits
(generator, 24/7/365 and motorcycle, during the winter months) for many years,
with no issues.
In terms of charging the battery from the generator while itâ??s running, you
will be just fine.
