See if one of your sockets fits inside the plug pretty tight. That
can be used as a driver to seat the plug in a little further. If
it were mine, I would use a new plug set in with the socket.
If you fill the block up, it won't tell you much. It should be blocked
off and under a little pressure. If the water plug holes are round,
you might be able to plug them with a cork or something, fill the
system up with water, and put a little air (no more than the rating
on the cap) into the system to see if the water leaks. It probably
won't if everything is done right.
Then put things back together and fill the system up with anti freeze
mix (forget about the Kerosene in the owner's manual). You got by
easy if that's all that failed.
