About 70 years ago my grandfather, a diesel
mechanic/welder/blacksmith/machinist, cut a trap door into the wood floor of
his shop to make a handy grease pit. Thanks to Gramps, I can just walk under
my car, reach up, and wrench on anything under the car. It has allowed me to
work when various back injuries would otherwise have halted progress.
