When I started using seat belts was when I started racing at Mosport and
Harewood. Then I installed them in the road cars. I figured that if they were
mandatory where we were all going the same direction and all of the drivers
were skilled to some extent, I should use them on the road, where most of the
drivers were total idiots and the differential speed was often 100 mph or more.
