Interesting, it is my all-steel (spiral-wound) type that expand during the
'push' operation, the white nylon with londitudinal strands in a black outer
sheathing don't suffer from that problem.  However they can't be clamped as
tightly at the ends as the nylon deforms, unlike the steel type.
