The drilling and slotting will reduce surface area slightly, and unless you
regularly get them hot enough for the slots and holes to get rid of the
resultant gas I would think it unlikely you would see any benefit. But then
I wouldn't bother fitting braided stainless brake hoses or harder bushes
either.
