David,

It has been my experience that water pumps tend to drip out of a small hole
built especially for the purpose of letting you know that the water pump
bearing is starting to go. Unless you have a loose bolt on the water pump,
I doubt that it's the gasket that is leaking. The pumps sometimes make a
squealing noise, but I rarely hear that in any of my cars. If you can move
the fan back and forth towards the engine and radiator, you need to change
the pump right away as it may fail in a rather spectacular way that could
cost you a radiator, otherwise I would wait for the memorial day weekend to
change water pumps. First make sure the water is coming out of the hole in
the water pump and not one of your radiator or heater hoses or the radiator
itself. When moving, the fan will distribute the leaking water in any
number of places that may be misleading.

Good luck,

Dave 72 B
