Actually the swap you are probably thinking of was a K series (as per
the MGF) which has been successfully slotted into the Midget. At one
point. Rover Special Products (the defunct specialist off-shoot of
Rover, which brought us the RV8) toyed with the idea of a Midget
monocoque (courtesy of Heritage) with an in-line K series and new
exterior panelwork. But the idea got no further than the drawing board.

I read in (I believe) Safety Fast (MGCC mag) several months back that
someone in the MGCC had inserted an M-16 engine into a Midget. Don't
think it was a turbo, but the HP figures quoted were in the 3 figure
range.
 Now, what could I do with a 140 HP Midget (besides loose my learners
permit within a couple of weeks)?
