  Yeah, at my latest examination of the oil flow, it goes through the
cooler into the filter and circulates from the outside and drains into
the hole in the center.  I have the modern type filter on the engine,
but not the one where the filter hangs upside down.  BTW it sure is a
pain to change and keep the oil spill to a reasonable amount.  Sort of
like a Chrysler product with the horizontal filter arrangement.  I have
a mechanical gauge and will hope to run some tests in the next couple of
days with it.  If all is OK, I may even attempt to pipe up some lines to
the dash (OK, fascia!) and install some sort of mechanical pressure
gauge there instead.  At worst, I may just leave the small gauge in the
engine compartment and check it from time to time, leaving the
non-working electrical unit in the passenger compartment.

Well, now on to swap the gas tank sending units...
