Hello; I am fighting a problem with my 67B. The car is fitted with a weber
down-draft and stock exhaust manifold. I have been having problems
getting the car to restart after it has reached normal running temp.
The car always fires right up when it is cold or hasn`t reached the
running temp. Once parked after driving any distance i find myself
cranking away on the starter several times before it will fire up. The
problem almost seems like vapor-lock but i haven`t foud anyone who
would confess to having vapor-lock problems with a weber. I have added
some heat-shied between the carberator and exhaust manifold but the
problem remains. The carberator was rebuilt about a year ago while i
was going through the engine. The shop that did the work had a good
reputation. Does anyone have any ideas or insight on where to look
next for this problem. At the rate i`m going I`ll be needing a new
starter/ring-gear soon.
thanks
