       If the pin prick goes in and you can't feel it, it won't hurt the
bearings.
I don't know what it is, but could be due to the nitriding.
     Whether or not the crank is straight is of much greater consequence.
            Put the crank in the block, with oiled bearings, 
and torque down the mains. The crank should easily spin by hand if
 it's straight and the clearences are correct.
If it's too tight it could wipe a main bearing before too long.
