Remember "Continental kits?" They were rear bumper extenders and spare
tire covers that were supposed to make any car as cool as a Lincoln
Continental. But never worked, in my estimation.

I beg to differ; the "kit" on my grandfather's Nash Rambler looked pretty
darned cool to me!

I miss those made-up marketing words that were meant to sound so modern
and now sound so retro. Words like "DynaFlow" and "ElectraLuxe."
Introducing the 1963 Admiral TV, now with SpectraVision!

One of my personal favorites is the "Impacto-Scopic" steering column
introduced on the 1959 Triumph Herald. Actually, it was a pretty good feature
for
the era, with some range of adjustability and telescoping impact protection
(depending on how much of the adjustment one used, of course). And the same
column was good enough to serve all TR4/5/6 models as well as all the Herald
derivatives through 1976. Definitely a great name, though.
And, of course, any number of British cars could be equipped with some style
of "Ace Rimbellishers"; another great name!
