Synthetic oil

Hey guys - what advantage do you see to using synthetic Oil?? Skip in a
recent msg sez it's GREAT!

I change the oil and filter on "The Pumpkin" in the spring erery year
whether its needed or not.  I'v used Castrol 20-50 forerver..

If you use synthetic, how often do you change it??.  How about the filter ??

Any commnts welcome - this will probably generate a real great thread.
