Ben,
Just a week or so back, someone posted to the mgs list the website for
a company that makes headgaskets. I read most of their information. One
of the FAQs was this question you raised. They say that their gaskets
made for just this need work fine for the purpose. It would seem that
even 150 psi pushing against .085 gasket thickness would not have much
area to push against to move the gasket.
I'm copying your query to the mgs list in hopes that someone will still
have the website address of that company.
