Thanks Bob and Lew and Brian and Bill......for your input. now to jump around, do you guys leave that wire mesh on your sump oil pickup tube? Mine seems in good shape and pretty clean. Too bad they didn't have a socket big enough to unscrew it.......someone used a chisle on it. It kinda looks like an old rear axle bearing keeper. Anyone got an extra oil dipstick for the 6 cylinder? I'm jumping all around just to see whats missing before a major order goes in to Dowley. Yesterday I ordered a ball hone from McMasters-Carr. They have a very slick online catalog that makes ordering stuff real easy. I also ordered a long 25/64 drill because I need to helicoil the tapped holes for the long cheese bolts. Bob, the nose piece has the number "109" and the block is "579".....however Pete was racing this combo and must have line bored it.......I've ordered a crank and 6 pistons from Bayton-Jones.....so will have to have it done again.
