Somebody once wrote to Road & Track asking if changing to wire spoke wheels would improve their brake cooling. The Columnist responded by suggesting that the guy try to spray water from a garden hose through the spokes as the car drove by. At speed, there is so much turbulence around the spokes as they rotate that not much air gets through. If that is really true, crosswinds shouldn't affect solid MC wheels any differently than spoked wheels. I don't have any first- hand experience but maybe someone could comment on this.
