Bob;
I knew someone would remember the right designation for the "Birdcage". BTW-
I saw Lucky Casner take a mechanic for a ride of one lap (14.7 miles back
then) around the Nurburgring to demonstrate a problem he was having with his
"Birdcage" in practice. I don't think I've ever seen such a look of sheer
terror as on that mechanic's face when Casner returned to the pits.

For those on the list that haven't seen a Maserati "Birdcage" the
chassis was made up of 1/2 tube, lots of it. It got the nickname when
somebody said a bird couldn't fly out of it. Not being picky Neil but they
were Typo 60 & 61's They had a laydown twincam four cylinder engine. I got
to trailer a few around for a guy back in the 1970's. Bob,hanging the
outside lights in connecticut
The guys who fabricated the Tipo 63 (?) "Birdcage" Maserati chassis must
have been commited to a lunatic asylum after a few weeks of that work.
