Mark,

We're talking 1/8" increments.  If you can get your calipers in there, that 
will 
give you the diameter.  My replacement (cast iron) clutch master cylinder 
actually has the diameter (5/8") stamped on a circle on the right hand side, 
just below the reservoir line/port.
