I learned to never trust plastigauge.=C2=A0.0005 too tight on a race motor =
and it's all over with. A street motor may not care though=20

but still reading plastigauge can be a matter opinion or interpretation =C2=
=A0instead of a hard dimension.=20

Whatever became of the came bearing clearance p oint I read about, or lack =
of cam bearings. That seemed the most plausible.=20

I also read something about a crack in a main casting that caused similar s=
ymptoms.=20

I'm the guy with the TR250 oil pressure problem.=C2=A0 I replaced my oil pr=
essure regulator spring with a HD one.=C2=A0 The one I took out measured sh=
ort and the new one was longer than spec from Bentley.=C2=A0 It helped, but=
 after I got well up to temp, pressure disappeared at idle and water boiled=
 over.=C2=A0 I'm travelling for work this week, so I dropped off my car wit=
h my mechanic friend with a new oil pump and some plastic gauge to check th=
e bearing clearance.=C2=A0 I'll find out the status soon.=C2=A0 This is mor=
e than a little frustrating with Triumphest starting next week.=20

San Diego mechanic with (300,000?) miles on his 250 and never did the botto=

end.=C2=A0 In the Triumph magazine article he said he just does regular oil=

changes with STP.=C2=A0 =C2=A0 I've shaved the head and a hotter cam so I m=
ay have added=20
additional stress to the engine.=C2=A0 my oil pressure hasn't deteriorated =
in 16=20
years of ownerhip.=20
