Jack,
We bought Pauter rods for Susan's spitfire. Nice looking and seem to be
working just fine in the car. The major issue we had with them is on one
of the rods they stamped the cap and the rod, then turned the cap around,
machine it and then turned the cap around again and shipped the rod to
us. When Ed was assembling the engine he found this out. He found that
by switching the cap around everything was fine but leaving it on the way
it was stamped and he couldn't get the crank to turn. He then sent the
rod out to be bored with the cap on correctly. That to me seems like a
pretty big manufacturing mistake.
Even so, I'd still buy them for my TR3 if for no other reason than cost.
