I know Ray Irwin, the new (relatively) owner of the Topeka track, fairly
well. Super nice guy. I worked with him on the early BLACKHAWK VINTAGE
CLASSIC
(he also owns BLACKHAWK FARMS) events before VSCDA took the event over. While
most road circuit track owners are 'racers', Ray is a dyed in the wool 'blue
collar' racer. Lots and lots 'Midwestern Council' (read open shop SCCA) seat
time. This guy still works corners a couple of times a year. I figure that's
got to impact his style, and has to be good for people like us.
