[Roadsters] engine bearings (another dumb one from WI)

here's a dumb one from me to you all:

Crank and rod bearings come in standard and metric, correct?

How do I determine if I have a metric block? is it simply a matter 
checking the block number and making sure it is after block #R4000? Or 
is there more to it than that?
