After the long winter and lots of great email I started out by:
Here is the update:
1.) Drained oil, replaced it with 4 qt plus oil treatment for good measures
2.) Removed Spark Plugs. Added a little WD40 and Marvel Mystery Oil
3.) Advanced Auto did not have the NGK BPR6ES bur said the E3.46 was the
equivalent. Replaced with E3 plugs
4.) Drained fuel tank.
5.) Replaced inline fuel filter
6.) Charged the battery for 5 hours (it was at 3.5 v and 40 CCA, now 12v and
150
CCA - back on the charger as I type)
7.) Added 5 gal of premium fuel and sea foam
8.) Disconnected coil and turned over the engine numerous time.
9.) Reconnected coil and sparkplugs, but NO JOY. Cranks but not even a hint
of firing.
Ignition system checks:
10.) Disconnected cable off of coil and cranked. Did not get a "fat blue
spark" like other emails suggested, but did get a yellow spark
11.) Disconnected one of the spark plug wires and did the same arch test.
Same results, arch out of wire number 4.
Fuel line checks:
Pulled the fuel line off of the float bowl, cranked it over and fuel filled
into a plastic cup.
Pulled the top off of the float bowl and the floats were "floating". (now I
need to order new gaskets)
At this point, I have exceeded my knowledge. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
Chuck
